Designed for:

Personnel who may be required to administer first aid.  It is based on the needs of those in the health and education setting to enable them to provide appropriate emergency first aid responses  (based on HLTAID003 and 4) but can be adapted to the needs of the group.

Time Frame: 

8  - 9 hours

 

Objective:

The course covers emergency recognition, safety, communication, legal requirements, Basic Life Support, airway emergencies (chocking, asthma, anaphylaxis, hyperventilation), seizures, shock, stroke management, myocardial infarction, diabetes emergencies, bleeding, soft tissue and fracture care, burns, eye and ear damage, spinal and crush injuries and envenomation.  

 

Minimum/maximum number of course participants:

6-20

 

Cost:

$2540 (+ $120/participant when more than 6 persons if no mannequins available at site).
